A little background information
Hi, everyone! I'm new to the blogging scene. To me, this feels more like a diary than a blog. I created this space as an accountability partner while I transition into the tech field. I’ll be journaling my daily routine here.
For reference, you can call me Jane (a pseudonym). I'm a licensed radiographer (imaging scientist) who got married this year. I had to quit my job (it’s a long story) and am currently a housewife (which isn’t so bad). Now, I'm trying to make my way into tech.
Initially, I wanted to become a virtual assistant. I took some courses, but they didn’t resonate with me. I felt pressured to pursue this path because many of my friends are virtual assistants (still newbies), and I didn’t want to be left out. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as expected.
Currently, I'm learning Python programming. I paid for a 12-week class, and while the class is currently in week 7, I’m lagging behind at week 3. I’m hoping to catch up sooner rather than later. Additionally, I have a "100 Days of Python" coding class on Udemy that I’ve not been consistent with, but I'm determined to do better. My goal is to reach a mid to advanced level in Python by the end of the year.
The first half of 2025 will be dedicated to learning data analysis, seeking internship opportunities, and building my portfolio. Hopefully, by the second half of next year, I'll land an entry-level job.
I also want to build my presence on Instagram and LinkedIn. I’m not sure how I’ll tackle this aspect yet, but I’m confident I’ll figure it out as I go.
I must admit, I’m the most inconsistent person I know. However, I truly want to build a career in tech, so I need to take this seriously. I hope this diary will help me stay consistent and keep procrastination in check (fingers crossed).
I'm also eager to learn more about the tech field as I go along. If anyone has tips on resources or strategies for mastering Python or transitioning into data analysis, I’d love to hear them!
